The Election
A poet thrives on mortal wounds
The Election
America is a land
untitled
The days of my life are numbered
The frozen winter froths at the bit
America is as a schoolyard
Remember
I wear the cloak of death
The demon comes in the middle of the night
I like my bed
The new child
If you were a candle
Divorce is a child
There's the door
The Jesus junkie
To my ex
Slow children
Can medals hold a child
The silence of spring
The very nature of my soul

Life is a film...

Floating submerged
in a currentless ocean
as vast as the deep reaches of space
it seems.
My world is enclosed
within walls of glass.
I swim forever in spirals never ending.
I'm bored.
Guess I'll go through the lime green
castle again.
The bubbles tickle,
but the thrill is gone.
Here comes my captor to
gawk at my misfortune.
Yes, I see you too.
Tap, tap, tap.
The puckered faces you make
mockingly disgust me.
And you, out there, in your glass cage,
how do you spend your days
in that seemingly endless ocean
you swim in?
